The Production Manager will actively participate in the site’s safety and quality management programs, and practice Lean Manufacturing practices. This role involves preparing and reviewing production, safety, and quality reports, developing action plans for problem resolution, and establishing improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance, and production. The Production Manager will also direct and assist with developmental or experimental activities, work with employees to gather input for production issues, and review Key Performance Indicators to ensure departmental objectives are met. Collaboration with Planning and Operations teams to discuss production schedules, and with supervision to ensure adequate coverage for absences, are also key aspects of this role. The position requires interfacing with customers and suppliers, implementing proactive and corrective maintenance practices, and ensuring effective preventative maintenance programs are in place. Additionally, the Production Manager will ensure plants meet cycle time requirements, that employees are properly trained, and will make decisions regarding work processes and operational plans to achieve objectives. Other duties as assigned.
