About The Position

Directs all aspects of Rubber & Metal production to meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and product cost while staying focused on meeting internal expectations regarding safety, quality, delivery and profitability.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a four year accredited college or university with 5+ years progressive manufacturing management/leadership experience with responsibility for an entire department or shift.
Had direct management responsibility for production teams.
Demonstrated excellence in Safety performance.
Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
Professional demeanor, leads by example, and is self-motivated.
Proven results through the development of team implemented cost reduction.
Lean and continuous improvement programs.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft applications. Specifically Excel and Word.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedures and or work instructions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management, associates, customers, and public.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
The candidate must be able to successfully interface with employees, peers and customers.
This includes handling Personnel conflicts in a sensitive and professional manner without compromising business objectives.
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, statistics and probability.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and financial information.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of high-speed manufacturing and Rubber to Metal processing is desirable.
Knowledge of quality systems, TS16949

Responsibilities

Ensure production standards are met around such key areas as Customer Orders, Quality, and Safety compliance.
Coordinate daily production activities and resources to ensure operational metrics are achieved.
Comprehend the regulatory environment and company policies, and ensure production systems, documentation and processes are in compliance at all times.
Develop personal knowledge of equipment and manufacturing systems to provide a highly competent resource for all three shifts.
Provide technical expertise to resolve and/or troubleshoot production-related issues.
Build technical competencies within all production shifts team by sharing knowledge, coaching, and providing for ongoing training.
Ensure all shifts implement and utilize solutions and technologies in support of improved safety, quality, continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Develop all shifts team and build an effective operating culture by setting clear expectations, providing on-going coaching, and assessing employee performance.
Oversee the accurate and timely completion of production records.
Remove waste and constraints from the Production processes to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Coordinates Production equipment modifications and adjustments with Facilities Management.
Available and on call as a resource to the operation during all hours of operation.
Fosters an environment that is passionate about working safely.
Ensures all Safety and Incident reports are completed and communicated in a timely manner.
Manages Rubber to Metal Supervisors who supervise Rubber to Metal Production departments.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
