About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager Weekend Shift to join our team supporting a stand-alone manufacturing facility performing work on a hypersonic weapon system as well as other DOD and aerospace applications. The Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.

Requirements

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
• At least 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Understanding of GD&T
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• BS degree in engineering, logistics, or business
• Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.
• Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint
• Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technician, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering
• Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits
• Provide effective passdown status between shifts
• Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery
• Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow
• Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step
• Identify production roadblocks and escalate to appropriate teams
• Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes
• Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects
• Identify and escalate risks in the production processes
• Maintain department performance metrics
