About The Position

Franz Family Bakery, founded in 1906, is a successful bakery producing a variety of baked products. With over 4,000 employees across several states, we are seeking a Production Manager to join our fast-paced team in West Jordan, Utah. This role involves managing bakery production, including planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling production activities, as well as supervising staff, training, and progressive discipline within the plant manufacturing area.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible production supervision experience.
Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to a 4 year college degree.
Enrolled in or finished the AIB 16 week class or the Certified Bakers program.
Demonstrated knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen, & traceability and other compliance requirements of a commercial bakery.
Direct oversight of SOP’s within department.
A high level of analytical ability is required.
Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgment.
Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast paced work environment.
Superior communication skills - both verbal and written.
Good Computer Skills - Windows Office, Outlook, Excel.

Responsibilities

Managing the Bakery Production.
Managing the plant Production Budget.
Establishing specific goals and standards for each area of responsibility to achieve understanding and relate the work to company policies and objectives.
Staffing the bakery.
Establishing production schedules.
Running test dough to assist in developing new products.
Performing tasks requiring independent knowledge of the baking process in addition to procedures or instructions provided.
Continuous improvement in operations and cost control.
Ensuring safety practices and compliance in the plant.
Performing other duties as assigned.
