About The Position

Production Supervisor Position Overview The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of Operations Coordinators and Leads. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all work activities of functional area. Establish work schedule and develop cost effective plan to meet floor operation goals. Schedule and coordinate deliveries and/or pick-ups. Coordinate this schedule with sales and shipping departments. Equipment Maintenance Ensure that machinery is properly maintained, guaranteeing optimal performance. Work to ensure a safe work environment and encourage adherence to safety guidelines. Prepare production/delivery schedules, production reports, and verify production reports as applicable. Supervise personnel and ensure adherence to department/company policies and procedures. Perform personnel management duties including training, hiring/termination recommendations, performance management, and departmental wage recommendations; initiate corrective actions when necessary. Provide performance feedback. Instill Knowledge, Skills & Abilities to the team, in order to perform job duties. Supervise a workforce of 15 to 50 subordinates (direct/indirect reports). Employee Growth: Conduct performance reviews and provide opportunities for career advancement, empowering the team to thrive. Innovative Thinking: Continuously analyze production operations and workflows, seek improvements that will drive the business forward. Maintain inventory of respective area. Monitor the safety of the work area and uphold the highest safety standards and ensure all operations align with Company and OSHA policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Monitor costs of assigned area. Perform other related duties as necessary. Fill in when short on staffing, not recommended but in some cases necessary. Approve timecards / Monitor OT hours. Budgeting responsibilities (may or may not have full P&L accountability). Team goal setting & communication (directly or relaying from management) Quality Control: Manage finished goods packaging to meet company quality standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop, promote and maintain good customer relations.
  • Ability to maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment.
  • Must have knowledge & understanding of OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Continuously analyze production operations and workflows, seeking improvements that will drive the business forward.
  • Includes standing/walking for extended periods of time.
  • Bending or stooping regularly.
  • Lifting 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds or more on occasion.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Minimum experience required - 2 years of experience supervising others and work groups in a related work environment (i.e., warehouse, lumber yard, manufacturing, etc.)
