Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to organize and oversee the daily operations of Biomerics Mebane production operations. You will ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing procedures and coaching the employees. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan diverse operational activities. He/She must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run production operations. This position will be responsible for the Mebane, North Carolina facility's daily operations. Additionally, the Production Manager will effectively develop and coach their direct reports to support daily initiatives, align department objectives with the business strategy, engage the workforce with increased expectations, and hold the workforce accountable for results.

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
3+ years’ experience managing direct reports.
Experience with Plastic Injection Molding
A bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience is required.
A thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing is required.
Financial acumen, including understanding and responding appropriately to financial data.
Demonstrated success in managing the workforce, conflict management, and working in a team environment.
Advanced proficiency with business software (ERP, MS Office).
Strong business acuity.
Outstanding communicator.

Highly collaborative leadership style.
Diligent and proactive results-driven personality.
Effective decision-making skills.
Technical aptitude in understanding complex manufacturing issues and processes.

Nice To Haves

A Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) is preferred.
Working experience within a regulated industry highly desired.
ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 Quality Management System preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with support departments to execute production to meet their goals.
Work with human resources to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel, and oversee training programs.
Provide synergies enabling efficient operations, ensuring customer service requirements are met, leading to an optimum return on investment.
Manages and supports the Production teams.
Interacts regularly with site leadership team and individual department heads to ensure that the company’s manufacturing operations priorities are aligned with the overall company strategy.
Provide leadership to and ensure that each group has all the necessary resources to operate efficiently.
Track production efficiencies.
Drive continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Drive the lean management of the operations through the shift start-up boards and daily meetings.
Set standards and monitor team performance, provide performance feedback, write and conduct appraisals, recommend merit increases and promotions, and hold direct reports accountable to policies and performance throughout the year.
In collaboration with the maintenance department, ensure full operational compliance with all site procedures and applicable regulations.
Ensures safety, health, and environmental compliance are part of everyday activities. Works with managers to improve employee engagement in safety, health, and environmental initiatives.
