About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for advancing all event details for all shows. This role will oversee the production team and develop a plan to execute shows according to agreed-upon contract terms. The Production Manager must adhere to a budget, ensuring all costs are tracked and monitored, and that all show and performer needs are met.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of related work experience
  • Experience interpreting event contracts and developing accurate production budgets
  • Working knowledge of technical aspects of concert production
  • Ability to solve logistical and technical problems including staging, lighting, sound
  • Ability to create and maintain budgets for events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); and ability to learn required business systems
  • Previous management experience with an emphasis on resolution management
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be extremely flexible to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays
  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Liaise between venue and artist to ensure all production needs are met and the contract is adhered to.
  • Collaborate with the talent buyer and artist to finalize tour schedules, build offers, and create show budgets.
  • Work closely with the venue to ensure all equipment is in working order and that all show needs are addressed and met.
  • Resolve any production issues that may arise throughout the show timeline.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with artists, tour crews, artist management, venues, and other key personnel to ensure streamlined communication and successful show execution.
  • Establish and manage workable show budgets, tracking all expenses to stay within spending limits.
  • Oversee the load-in and load-out processes for artists, vendors, and all relevant parties.
  • Manage the production crew by interfacing with and making arrangements with local labor vendors, creating production crew schedules, resolving employee relations issues and conflicts, and reviewing, approving, and submitting payroll for production staff.
  • Potentially responsible for show settlement after the show concludes, ensuring artists and venue are paid accordingly.
  • Close out the show and submit all pertinent information to accounting.
  • May be responsible for hiring local labor, rentals, and other show needs.
  • May be responsible for production management and logistics at other locations, venues, or projects within the venue as directed.
