About The Position

The Kalmbach Feeds Production Manager is a highly responsible position with a primary emphasis on on-time shipments, safety, and quality. This role ensures materials, supplies, and equipment are readily and continuously available for workers to carry out production processes. The successful candidate will also assist with maintenance, process improvements, capital projects, and other production-related activities in conjunction with the Plant Manager. The position requires sensitivity to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill, and public image when unique situations arise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing Management.
  • Bachelors in a related field, preferred.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail.
  • High energy level and drive required to proactively execute on production management responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Proficient in all Windows-based programs.
  • Familiar with ERP and MES Systems.
  • Willingness to commute to the feed manufacturing facility located in Shippensburg, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, cost-effective, and efficient production of the manufacturing operation.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to all staff to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the performance of all direct reports and take appropriate steps to ensure team engagement.
  • Plan and organize daily production operations.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with shift supervisors to ensure total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure proper inventory of ingredients for plant use.
  • Ensure shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel, being ready for customer tours at any time through proper management of cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Provide leadership and training to staff to accomplish company goals and objectives.
