About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager based at our Chanhassen, MN location. This role will lead a dynamic three-shift production operation—first shift Monday through Friday, second shift Monday through Thursday, and weekend shift Friday through Sunday—while also providing leadership for our production training organization. This is a high-impact role for a leader who is passionate about Lean Manufacturing, developing strong teams, and using data-driven continuous improvement to strengthen safety, quality, service level, productivity, and employee capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ten (10) years or more of related experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, business, or a closely related field
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a technical field preferred
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in an engineering, supervisory, or management role in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, problem solving, and using data to drive operational performance

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Production Supervisors and production employees across first, second, and weekend shifts.
  • Provide leadership for the production training organization, ensuring effective onboarding, skill development, cross-training, and capability building across operations.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by maintaining and continuously improving safe work practices throughout the production organization.
  • Drive quality performance and ensure adherence to ISO, DOT, and IATA standards.
  • Manage staffing, labor planning, and daily execution to meet customer demand and deliver key business metrics, including service level and productivity.
  • Manage operating costs and budgets in alignment with financial objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and other teams to remove barriers and support operational success.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop production leaders and team members through regular feedback, performance discussions, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and data-driven continuous improvement initiatives that improve key performance indicators and strengthen operational excellence.
