About The Position

JG Custom Cabinetry & Design is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead their cabinetry manufacturing operation. This is not a desk-based role; the Production Manager will be present on the shop floor, leading people, managing workflow, solving problems, maintaining quality, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time. The company has over 22 years of experience and is growing, utilizing modern equipment and automation alongside traditional craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading, supervising, or directing people.
  • Meaningful experience with cabinetry, woodworking, carpentry, millwork, or a closely related trade.
  • Practical understanding of how parts, materials, people, and processes flow through a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Good judgment and confidence making decisions.
  • Ability to independently manage day-to-day production without constant direction.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements, plans, drawings, work orders, and production information.
  • Comfort working around woodworking equipment, tools, machinery, and modern production methods.
  • Basic comfort with computers and technology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other leaders and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, direct, and support the cabinetry production team (approximately 15 people).
  • Manage daily workflow from materials and components through completed cabinetry.
  • Establish clear priorities and ensure team members understand tasks.
  • Keep production moving towards project deadlines while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.
  • Assign personnel based on workload and priorities.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks, material issues, quality concerns, and staffing challenges.
  • Assess problems, make sound decisions, and implement practical solutions.
  • Coordinate materials, parts, hardware, equipment, and labor.
  • Maintain visibility into upcoming production requirements and prepare the team.
  • Collaborate with other company leaders and departments for smooth project flow.
  • Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, accuracy, organization, safety, and professionalism.
  • Train, coach, and develop production team members.
  • Hold individuals accountable while treating them respectfully.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, processes, organization, and efficiency.
  • Remain hands-on and assist with production tasks as needed.
