About The Position

The Production Manager will directly or indirectly manage all production, grounds, and sanitation employees and contract labor. This role involves reporting and generating KPIs to monitor processing room performance, planning and managing shift schedules to ensure timely order fulfillment, and maximizing production efficiency and overall cost management. The Production Manager will monitor labor utilization and production efficiencies to achieve operational effectiveness in a safe and efficient manner while staying on budget. This position requires close collaboration with HR and Senior Management to meet staffing needs, and the development and maintenance of effective training programs for employees. Ensuring equipment operators and floor supervisors are properly trained, and that all training is conducted as required, is crucial. The role also involves communicating and coordinating with all departments, ensuring all products meet or exceed quality standards, and resolving quality or production issues. Maintaining raw material consumption in a FIFO manner (unless newer product will spoil first), ensuring accuracy of reported results, and maintaining the grounds in a clean and orderly fashion are also key responsibilities. The Production Manager will also ensure sanitation employees perform their tasks as required and scheduled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; and internet software.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and use hands.
  • Occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.
