About The Position

The Operations Manager will support Converting and Extrusion Production teams, assisting with planning, directing and coordinating production activities. The Operations Manager is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. Advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees. Maintain safe, clean, orderly and environmentally compliant production operations. Inclusive oversight of all production and production support activities of the facility ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards. Perpetually assess current strategies, systems, procedures, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and employees for opportunities to optimize safety, flow, service, quality, and profitability. Willingly undertake and perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols. Ensure that production activities remain on time and within budget. Track staffing needs, hiring new hires as needed.

Requirements

• High school degree required
• Requires individual with thorough knowledge of production processes in order to oversee bag making process
• A minimum of 5-10+ years of experience in a production environment
• Demonstrated competence to work with minimum supervision effectively with all levels in the organization.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.
• Willing and able to work overtime

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols.
• Ensuring that production activities remain on time and within budget.
• Tracking staffing needs, hiring new hires as needed.
• Performing daily audits for Standard Work, Housekeeping and Roll Scanning.
• Maintaining and posting shift score cards twice monthly.
• Assisting with attendance and performance write ups.
• Assisting with shift completion of SABA safety training.
• Assisting with OT schedules.
• Supporting shift supervisor on the floor to improve uptime.
• Leading, motivating, and supporting production team, including career development and problem resolution.
• Managing data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
• Overseeing materials and inventory.
• Conducting budget reviews and reporting cost plans to corporate leadership team.
