About The Position

Lead the overall success of plant production operations pertaining to the satisfaction of team member safety, customer service levels and quality expectations including the supporting management of production, scheduling, training, and continuous improvement departments / initiatives. The Production Manager will continually improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. They will lead the planning, organizing, and directing of production and scheduling operations to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and quality are met. This role also involves leading plans and processes that minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. The Production Manager will lead the effort in attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations. They will implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Hershey’s Salty Snacks strategic initiatives. This role involves managing spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume, and assuring that rules and regulations are effectively administered. Maintaining and improving housekeeping in all areas is also a key responsibility. The Production Manager must maintain individual skills by keeping up to date with the latest production and production management concepts, including OSHA and PCQI trainings. They will work in collaboration with teams on improvement projects including capital investments, process improvements, etc. Driving lean initiatives and being the main advocate for a continuous improvement culture, as well as driving plant training department objectives, are crucial. The role also includes participation and support of HARPC, Food Safety, Food Defense, Internal Auditor, and Safety Committee programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in implementing and/or adhering to 3rd party audits and certifications (AIB, ISO, BRC, and SQF)
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certification
  • Formal Lean and Six-Sigma Training including successful demonstration of implementation in a manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA certification or training
  • Mechanical skills or experience to maximize efficiencies of highly automated facility.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience managing 100+ employees on multiple shift operations.
  • 3+ years managing in a process manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a food processing plant, specifically baking.
