About The Position

Oversee all manufacturing operations within the paper mill to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Establish a comprehensive training program for production associates. Manage associates weekly scheduling. Manage production consumable inventories and budget.

Requirements

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production processes; managing staff; maintaining equipment performance; and ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee forklift, hand tools, overhead cranes, aerial lift, skid steer, front end loader, broderson, man lift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand and capacity.
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules to minimize downtime and maximize output.
  • Ensure all paper grades and specifications meet quality and performance standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as machine efficiency, yield, waste reduction, and energy usage.
  • Analyze production data and implement corrective measures to improve productivity.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of pulp, paper machines, and finishing equipment.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are effective.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and help develop long-term solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor production supervisors, machine operators, and support staff.
  • Lead daily shift meetings and communicate production goals, issues, and safety topics.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, industry standards, and mill policies.
  • Partner with Quality Control to maintain consistent product quality and minimize defects.
  • Maintain full adherence to safety standards (OSHA 1910 Standards).
