About The Position

The Production Manager will own the end-to-end production process for rag & bone's footwear and accessories lines. This role is responsible for managing the operational aspects of getting products from the prototype stage to the retail shelf. Key responsibilities include managing costs, coordinating with overseas factories, and ensuring alignment among cross-functional teams throughout the production lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in production management within the footwear or accessories industry.
  • Proficiency in issuing, tracking, and updating bulk purchase orders including ex-factory dates, delivery dates, and costing.
  • Experience maintaining and updating seasonal WIP reports including final buys, BOMs, and delivery milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and workflow management.
  • Quality assurance, quality control, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Daily communication with overseas factories to ensure production orders meet schedule, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Coordinating, creating, modifying, and distributing purchase orders independently and collaboratively to meet production timelines.
  • Communicating production priorities and updates to cross-functional teams including merchandising, marketing, and operations.
  • Tracking and maintaining Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and production timelines.
  • Negotiating costs, lead times, and production terms with suppliers.
  • Tracking, organizing, and managing marketing materials related to production and launches.
  • Reviewing, processing, and communicating comments and approvals on artwork and packaging from factories.
  • Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all production documentation and approvals.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving production issues to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Managing and tracking footwear costing from prototype through production.
  • Collaborating with the Manager on cost exercises and negotiations.
  • Analyzing Cost Breakdown Data (CBD) to ensure accuracy of charges.
  • Preparing costing files for internal meetings.
  • Participating in product reviews and noting changes in design, material, or cost.
  • Communicating any product concerns to Merchandising and Design during development and production.
  • Entering costing and duty rates into Fashion Flow.
  • Working with factories and the Logistics team on classifications and duty rates.
  • Reviewing and confirming final buys with merchandising, sales, and planning.
  • Ensuring factories complete Product Detail Sheets and working with Logistics/Broker to confirm HTS/duty rates.
  • Issuing, maintaining, and updating bulk POs with ex-factory dates, delivery dates, and costing.
  • Updating seasonal factory WIP with final buys and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Maintaining seasonal master WIP through production, including deliveries.
  • Monitoring and tracking sample timing for Counterfeit Free Manufacturing (CFM), wear tests, Advertising & Promotion (AD) samples, and Top of Production (TOP) samples.
  • Troubleshooting any production issues that arise with vendors on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring communication between finished goods vendors and raw material vendors.
  • Troubleshooting potential issues and partnering cross-functionally to find solutions.
  • Communicating delays and production shortages/overages cross-functionally.
  • Ensuring system accuracy with logistics.
  • Sending comments and approvals on CFM and TOP samples to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Assisting the manager with the third-party Quality Control (QC) process.
  • Monitoring bulk penetration by factory and COO.
  • Ensuring bulk material comments are up-to-date post SMS reviews.
  • Sending bulk recaps to suppliers once bulk orders are placed.
  • Coordinating material/product testing with the Compliance Team.
  • Reviewing bulk material liabilities and managing payment/amortization.
  • Coding all production invoices in Medius Flow and ensuring timely submission and payment.
  • Owning Footwear style numbers and setting them up in Fashion Flow.
  • Overseeing the setup of Color Names in D365.
  • Checking all style names with Legal before market.
  • Issuing New Vendor Forms and setting them up with Accounts Payable (AP).
  • Supporting the setup and lifecycle of third-party Collegium product.
