About The Position

Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer modified asphalts and asphalt emulsions to the Road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized, flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for the Production Manager at our facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for all aspects of liquid asphalt plant operation including staffing, EH&S compliance, housekeeping, materials inventory, production, equipment reliability, quality specification, projects to meet changing asset needs. This position works closely with the dispatcher.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5 or more years of related experience/education/certification.
  • Previous work experience in managing plant/industrial facility preferred.
  • The ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages).
  • Exceptional computer skills (Microsoft office, excel, word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • All Level 4 duties.
  • Independent and processing expert on all systems.
  • Boiler system efficiency expert.
  • Back-up to Production Manager.
  • Lead projects in any plant area.
  • Independent development (ID) improvement opportunities.
  • Track metrics and savings.
  • Maintain all processes.
  • Generate and print batch tickets.
  • Schedule employees.
  • Provide input on employee performance reviews.
  • Trains/leads Operator 1, 2, 3, and 4.
  • Responsible for all aspects of liquid asphalt plant.
  • Overseeing day-to-day plant operations.
  • Addressing customer complaints and resolving operations problem
  • Development of plant processes/systems to ensure effective material production.
  • Data entry and record keeping.
  • Maintaining an excellent team, training, mentoring and leading employees.
