About The Position

The Production Manager will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring quality workmanship, keeping commitments to deadlines, delivering solutions, and demonstrating a positive attention to detail in meeting customers’ needs. The Production Manager must be committed to successful leadership through accountability, team building, and knowledge sharing, and they must be dedicated to meeting company financial goals and objectives. The Production Manager is responsible for supervising all manufacturing, maintenance, and production scheduling activities at the plant level, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety and quality control programs. This position trains and develops employees, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in the use and maintenance of the tools and equipment necessary for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Experience working independently to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with process and plant equipment, and to develop and rapidly implement corrective actions.
  • Experience training teammates on plant operations, quality control procedures and the proper techniques of instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Use of other tools and equipment may be required.
  • Work with other managers to formulate objectives and understand company goals.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
  • Organize workflow to meet specifications.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to keeping plant clean and Understand importance of being visible on the floor.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for all scheduled production.
  • Manage and report how plant operations affect P&L. As an example, OT and production.
  • Manage the activities of the shop floor, following established procedures and approved methods.
  • Guide all production operations activities in order to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, deliver on time, quality products and maximize profit.
  • Directly manage the activities of the Supervisors, responsible for their training and development.
  • Actively lead team with a hands-on style, willing to roll up sleeves and lead by example.
  • Be a Good Coach and Leader.
  • Support Management decisions and bridges the need to balance company interests with employee needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery.
  • Apply Company policies and assures adherence to Company standards.
  • Screen, interview, and hire for openings in collaboration with HR.
  • Recognize performance accomplishments and opportunities of direct reports and be comfortable in providing constructive feedback.
  • Follow the normal disciplinary process, addresses and documents performance issues with employees.
  • Recommend and participate in termination decisions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews.
  • Provide input to management on capital needs to remain competitive in the market.
  • Serve as the Safety Coordinator in the development, training, and implementation of a successful safety program that assures a safe working environment for all employees.
