About The Position
The Production Manager oversees the manufacturing process for Container Graphics products, from development through delivery to the customer. The role plans production schedules, monitors budgets and deadlines, and evaluates the productivity of the manufacturing department. It also leads and develops production employees to achieve manufacturing goals. The Production Manager is expected to promote the Container Graphics CS1 mindset and represent the company in a positive, energetic, and consistent manner. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow corporate policies and procedures related to accounting, sales, manufacturing, human resources, and the Quality Management System.
- Plan and organize material inventory, floor layout, daily production schedules, workflow, and staffing to produce quality products safely and on time according to CGC standards.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train production employees.
- Identify training needs and train and coach production employees on policies, procedures, safe practices, techniques, skills, and performance standards.
- Prepare and present accurate performance appraisals in a timely manner.
- Ensure finished products meet company standards before shipping.
- Implement the corporate safety program throughout the department.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, clarify project priorities, identify risks, and escalate issues that cannot be resolved.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
