About The Position

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Gill Corporation is seeking a Production Manager to manage exempt and non-exempt manufacturing team producing highly engineered composite structural parts. Coordinates activities associated with manufacturing of highly complex composite panels and laminates. Reporting to COO the Production Manager will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or sufficient TGC product/ process experience to problem solve departmental production issues.
  • Minimum of (10) ten years’ experience in production management
  • Experience in a variety of composite molding manufacturing methods such as hand layup, vacuum bagging, compression molding, curing, testing, and inspecting.
  • Must possess excellent math skills.
  • Must possess excellent reasoning ability and problem skills.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR. Responsibilities

  • Supervises production staff to ensure products are produced in compliance with internal processing instructions.
  • Supervises production staff to ensure plant safety practices are enforced.
  • Suggests and implements improvements to production processes.
  • Reviews production schedules to ensure adequate staffing, resources and materials are available to meet customer demands.
  • Ensures that proper housekeeping is enforced.
  • Reviews inventory control procedures to ensure that proper materials are used during the production process.
  • Trains production staff to ensure a complete understanding of Quality requirements.
  • Executes personnel policies regarding assigned staff to include hiring, training, performance appraisals and salary administration.
  • Responsible for control of variable manufacturing expenses.
  • Reports variances in production operations; variable expenses and production efficiencies.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe Production area.
  • Assures that each department meets or exceeds their production schedule.
