About The Position

Responsible for overseeing all production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel of the plant on the required shift.

Requirements

  • Understand Microsoft Office and AS-400. These may include Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and/or Word.
  • A BS Degree and five (5) years of managerial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates flow of work through the various departments to ensure efficiency, quality, and achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Participates in and supports monthly safety meetings, recommends safety training, and enforces safety regulations. Thoroughly investigates accidents and safety issues.
  • Directs employees performing routine, repetitive, or processing operations to ensure conformance to schedules and quality requirements.
  • Meets with the Area Coordinators and reviews the shift transfer sheet for each production line, noting the necessary changes for each department.
  • Assures an adequate number of materials to be used on the lines.
  • Answers all questions concerning production, quality, and safety.
  • Acts as a liaison between all the different departments and management.
  • Updates and offers the material requests to the technical, maintenance, and tool departments.
  • Oversee the entire plant and ensure that all vacancies are covered economically.
  • Print pallet tags and specification packages and distribute them to the lines.
  • Prepares and reviews training needs assessments with hourly employees.
  • Responsible for the performance of the Machine Operators, Area Coordinator, Building Maintenance, and Palletizer Operator during their shift.
  • Ensure that housekeeping is properly maintained throughout the plant.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Production Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities under the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
