About The Position

Lignetics, Inc., offers clean, renewable solutions with 30 years of experience innovating eco-friendly essentials. We manufacture a variety of consumer brands including wood pellets for home heating, BBQ pellets for grilling, wood pellets and shavings for animal bedding, and wood fiber-based cat litter. Our products are linked by a recycled, renewable, sustainable, and carbon neutral story, turning recycled sawdust into value-added, branded consumer products. The Production Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations within the mill manufacturing plant. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, quality and customer requirements, drives adherence to company Core Values, fosters a culture of Continuous Improvement, and manages production budgets effectively. The Production Manager will follow and execute programs under the supervision of the Plant Manager to achieve operational excellence, maintain safety standards, and deliver high-quality products on time and within cost parameters.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a “roll up your sleeves” approach.
  • Must be highly analytical and forward thinking.
  • Requires resourcefulness, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership and motivational skills.
  • Requires a medium degree of technical and analytical skills.
  • Requires the ability to do simple to complex math calculations.
  • Must be able to work in a high temperature/ humidity area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating the production department.
  • Prioritizing and preparing production schedules and communicating production goals to the appropriate departments.
  • Analyzing equipment efficiency, materials supply, and coordinating manpower requirements.
  • Maintaining quality control of product.
  • Managing, training, and supervising department supervisors, shift leads, and production personnel.
  • Collecting, verifying, and reporting daily/weekly/monthly production data.
  • Production/Indirect personnel scheduling as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Vacation/attendance tracking/reporting with Ops. Coordinator.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly environmental data acquisition/reporting (Water/air quality).
  • Creating, maintaining, and accurately conveying production and inventory reports to appropriate members of management and sales department on an ongoing basis.
  • Overseeing corrective action policies and procedures, employee performance evaluations, and training schedules as needed.
  • Recruiting and evaluating potential employees.
  • Maintaining plant-wide parts/equipment/expendables inventory tracking and ensuring appropriate levels are maintained for efficient operation.
  • Overseeing the implementation of all quality control SOP policies/procedures, including the PFI Standards Program.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of the facility while coordinating the Lignetics. Safety Program at the plant level, including all reporting requirements for Lignetics and as required by OSHA or state and federal regulations.
