About The Position

The Production Manager will oversee daily production operations for landscaping projects and field crews. This role involves scheduling and coordinating crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. The Production Manager will monitor job progress, communicate updates and issues to leadership, and supervise, train, and support crew leaders and field employees. Responsibilities include reviewing job plans, conducting jobsite visits, ensuring crews have necessary resources, tracking labor and production, and assisting with resolving field issues and customer concerns. The role also involves promoting safety, supporting hiring and employee development, maintaining communication with stakeholders, identifying process improvements, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction, irrigation, hardscape, or related field operations required.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience overseeing field crews required.
  • Ability to read and understand job plans, scopes of work, schedules, and project details.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple crews, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and visit active jobsites as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of landscape installation, maintenance, irrigation, grading, drainage, or related production work preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production operations for landscaping projects and field crews.
  • Schedule and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor job progress and communicate updates, delays, staffing needs, and project issues to leadership.
  • Supervise, train, and support crew leaders, foremen, and field employees.
  • Review job plans, work orders, drawings, and project requirements before and during production.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to inspect work quality, safety compliance, and crew productivity.
  • Ensure crews have the tools, equipment, materials, and information needed to complete work efficiently.
  • Track labor hours, production progress, and job performance.
  • Assist with resolving field issues, customer concerns, and operational challenges.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and jobsite safety standards.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance feedback, and discipline for field employees.
  • Maintain strong communication with management, office staff, crew leaders, vendors, and customers when needed.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve project outcomes.
  • Ensure company equipment and vehicles are used properly and maintained in good working condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
