Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for the overall shift production, PPOH, Quality, Customer Relations, Housekeeping, Security, Safety, and maintaining and developing the workforce. This role involves fiscal management of costs and expenses in the operation of the shift in the plant, direct cost control, and knowledge of contracts when dealing with vendors. The Production Manager oversees the daily monitoring of payroll and labor costs, assuring the cost-effective operation of the plant while maintaining a safe work environment. They act as a direct liaison with the Engineering manager to assure the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment and are responsible for plant safety and overseeing regulatory compliance for all required agencies. This role also involves assisting customers/clients with any emergencies or problems that may occur, understanding production costing and laundry design and development, and assisting in the forecast annual budget. The Production Manager prepares 90-day and annual reviews, handles employee disciplinary procedures including terminations, maintains PPOH at expected levels, and is responsible for the training and development of all assigned personnel. They prepare work schedules for all production employees within a shift based on forecasted production volumes, develop action plans and development plans for the supervisory team, and oversee the management of utility, supplies, line purchases, and warehouse and inventory issues for cost control. Additionally, they work with the operations manager to open new labor opportunities within the market.
