The Production Manager Trainee is responsible for learning, demonstrating knowledge and skills, and becoming certified in all aspects of company systems and the pork industry standards. This position functions under the supervision of the appropriate department leader while performing all duties and responsibilities as a learning/development process. The trainee will gain a solid understanding of pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, genetics, and husbandry. They will perform and master hourly jobs under supervision, becoming certified in each after demonstrating competence. The role involves developing reports on experiences and suggesting improvements, complying with environmental laws, and completing leadership certification. Incumbents must understand and comply with company policies on IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS. They are responsible for reporting issues immediately and may act as the Head of Department (HOD) as needed. The position requires being on call for emergencies and progressing in the Manager Training development program, reporting any interference to Human Resources. This role is intended to describe the general nature and level of work, and may include other duties as assigned.
