About The Position

Install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain production and facility equipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years industrial mechanical experience and a two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Training is provided during the probationary period (60 working days for a new hire) by other Maintenance personnel and the Technical Supervisor.
  • 4+ years industrial maintenance including breakdowns and repairs, and production line changeovers. PLCs experience and Robotics is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting motor control centers and mechanical packaging equipment including presses, filling lines, conveying systems, pneumatic and hydraulics.
  • Programming VFD up to 480V.
  • Installing photo-eyes, ultrasonic sensors, and safety light curtain; also teaching how to install each of these.
  • Continuous ink jet date coders; setting up a message and changing parameters a plus.
  • HMIs, including their functions and abilities.
  • Pass the post offer physical and drug test.
  • Follow written/oral directives from the Plant Manager and Supervisors.
  • Follow instructions and company safety rules and be a critical thinker.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
  • Read an electrical and wiring schematic and have general electrical knowledge.
  • Wire a circuit that includes safety e-stops; continuous, momentary and timing relays; control heaters; encoders; and other electronic components.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and locate I/Os on a PLC (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Siemens).
  • Be flexible with work projects and changing needs.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed worker, able to work autonomously in a fast paced and often loud production environment.
  • Steel toe shoes are required.
  • Employee must wear safety glasses and ear protection. Gloves and masks/respirators as needed.
  • Use of personal tools is required. Metrics and SAE wrenches, multi-meter, various drivers, Allen wrenches, flashlight, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Learn each production line and its operation and be able to run each station.
  • Examine, test, maintain and repair all plant machinery and equipment to assure safe and efficient operations. May include the design and fabrication of parts.
  • Perform a variety of duties for preventive maintenance on the production equipment.     This may require reading and interpreting equipment manuals.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment, using various tools.
  • Set up and change over the tooling on machines.
  • Record and log maintenance repairs and inspections at machine. Communicate all actions, irregularities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Fully understand and comply with the LOTO procedures.
  • Comply with plant rules & safety regulations.
