Production Maintenance Technician - Second Shift

About The Position

In the production plant, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of general facility maintenance. The production environment is operational 24/7, so the technician is responsible to maintain, repair, disassemble, and troubleshoot complex equipment in charge of production processes. There is high-speed automated production machinery and other manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED) required or equivalent degree/certificate required
  • Must be able to learn and fully operate assigned production equipment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must become forklift certified within 1 month of hire
  • Ability to perform essential functions with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Provide Support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and other issues and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment to maximize efficiencies
  • Complete all assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks through SAP
  • Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line and support equipment
  • Assist with parts management by ensuring parts are checked out of stock and communicating any deficiencies to the Parts Planner
  • Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance staff through End of Shift reports
  • Support the Swire Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (SMCI) process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow established safety, quality and environmental policies, practices, and programs
  • Operate with technical skill the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management system. This is for inventory and production line operational excellence
  • Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds/repairs/maintenance
  • Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply chain process initiatives and improvement
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
  • Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards
