About The Position

The Production Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery to ensure optimal operating conditions and minimize downtime. The technician will also assist with inventory management and work with outside contractors when necessary. A strong understanding of schematics and diagrams is crucial for this position, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize urgent tasks to restore production.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
  • 1+ year maintenance experience in manufacturing environment (preferred automotive, EV battery, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35lbs.
  • The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down the stairs
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours / day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours / day.

  • Experience in maintenance with Manufacturing Industrial fields.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Experience in handling Heavy equipment, spare parts or materials.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Reading Comprehension; Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Writing; Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, using standard and specialized hand/power tools.
  • Perform a wide variety of service work on equipment and machines, including maintenance, repair, and modification.
  • Assist with regular inventory inspections for spare parts and maintain written documentation on inventory ordering and use.
  • Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace essential equipment parts.
  • Work with outside contractors for troubleshooting procedures.
  • Understand urgency to troubleshoot machines and bring production back online.
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties as required.
  • Read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders.
  • Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Research, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations.
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
  • Strict adherence to lock out tag out procedures.
  • Replace or repair machine belts, chains, or cables.
  • Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, and splice wire and insulate wire with friction tape.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
