About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician III to join their team in Sanford, NC. The typical work schedule is 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, with hours potentially varying based on business demand and weekend hours scheduled to support 24/7 operations. This role provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include performing all aspects of maintenance on industrial systems such as CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems. The technician will work alongside other skilled technicians, communicate effectively with site management and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical and mechanical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing issues. This role also involves identifying and correcting safety-related issues and performing equipment evaluations to predict potential failures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver License

Responsibilities

  • Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
  • Coordinates work with others in discipline group and other discipline groups on the project.
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
  • May train other technicians.
  • May prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, and other projects.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management.
