About The Position

The Dixon Group is looking for a Production Maintenance Tech to join their team. In this role, you will learn to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide variety of industrial machinery, including mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The position plays a crucial part in ensuring maximum equipment uptime, optimal operational efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards. This is an ideal starting point for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, have a mechanical background, and wish to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level maintenance or contracting experience is required.
  • A strong willingness to learn about and service industrial components, including gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • The ability and desire to learn about industrial electrical systems, motor controls, wiring diagrams, AC/DC circuits, sensors, and basic Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Highly motivated to master complex engineering drawings and electrical/piping schematics to understand system layouts.
  • A detail-oriented and dedicated individual who is enthusiastic about problem-solving and making a positive impact on the team's success.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe shoes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous roles like maintenance mechanic, electrician helper, or automobile mechanic are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the operational ability of equipment by completing routine preventative maintenance checklists and activities.
  • Identify mechanical issues and repair or replace worn and broken parts as necessary.
  • Move, assemble, install, and dismantle industrial machinery using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Use equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy materials safely.
  • Address general facility maintenance issues and carry out standard recycling duties.
  • Learn to read and understand schematic diagrams, engineering blueprints, and sketches to guide assembly and repairs.
  • Strictly follow all work site safety requirements, regulations, and best practices.
