About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Production Maintenance technician V to join our team in Winston Salem, NC on 3rd Shift. Typical work schedule is M-F 11:00pm to 7:30am; hours may vary based on business demand. (Monday starts at 11PM Sunday Night). Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. T5 Level Production Maintenance Technicians are responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance on all production related industrial systems including, but not limited to: CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex electrical and mechanical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems. The Production Maintenance Technician identifies and corrects any safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Carries out all duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to grip and use hand tools and power tools on a regular and repetitive basis
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist other technicians in solving work problems.
  • Understand company policies and follow all safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
  • Set an example in punctuality, attendance, and work ethic
  • Coordinates work with others in discipline groups and other discipline groups on the project.
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
  • Under limited direction, will work in a complex technical work environment utilizing a wide variety of resources, including computers and under limited supervision.
  • May train other technicians.
  • May prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, and other projects.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
