About The Position

Western States Envelope and Label Company, with over 115 years of experience, is a leading provider of high-quality envelopes, labels, and packaging. We are seeking a self-motivated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Ohio Plant, located minutes from Toledo. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing facility, dealing with shafts, gearboxes, and bearings. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate, shift premium, and a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Associate Degree OR equivalent from two-year college or technical school; OR a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert mechanical ability, analysis and troubleshooting skills within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Capacity to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
  • Aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficiency to read and interpret ruler measurements.
  • Ability to walk and stand frequently during an eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Dealing with shafts, gearboxes, and bearings.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate machinery in a timely, safe, and accurate manner while keeping the impact on production as minimal as possible.
  • Perform skilled fitting and aligning as required using precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements.
  • Maintain machines and support equipment for all departments including preventative maintenance.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts.
  • Installation, assembly, movement, or disassembly of machinery.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
  • Find and order parts as needed.
  • Perform duties as instructed for the following specific duties, but not limited to: Welding, Millwright, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Vacuum mechanical systems, Plumbing repair or installation, Metalworking duties.
