About The Position

The Production Maintenance Mechanic at North Coast inspects, maintains, and repairs processing equipment and machinery in seafood manufacturing plants. The role works under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, uses hand and power tools, and assists other factory mechanics. The position reports to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

At least 3 years of previous experience in industrial maintenance or as a line mechanic.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Great attention to detail.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to lift 30–50 pounds.
Ability to work up to a 10-hour workday, standing and walking most of the day.
Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling with the hands.
Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
Ability to work in wet and dry conditions and in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends when needed.
Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives or box cutters, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

Nice To Haves

Experience with packaging and/or bagging equipment.
A diverse background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot machinery.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Replace machine parts as needed.
Test and adjust equipment to meet performance specifications.
Review workspaces for cleanliness and safety.
Perform conveyor belt maintenance and repairs.
Perform electrical work, including electric motor replacement, basic industrial wiring, and troubleshooting.
Perform mechanical work, including bearing replacement and work on gearing, sprockets, roller chains, and belts.
