About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense System Sector is currently seeking a Production Maintenance Manager 1 to join our team in Rocket Center, WV, just outside of Cumberland, MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma with 10 years of demonstrated experience as a lead or a supervisor in a manufacturing setting OR Associates/Bachelors college degree in a technical or management field with 6 years of experience.
  • Availability and willingness to work any shift including some weekends as required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and MS Office
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic equipment
  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite
  • Flexible with work assignments.
  • Proactive safety attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with factory maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, utility systems
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude
  • Prior experience working in a union environment
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Experience leading a team of highly trained maintenance staff
  • Ability to plan, schedule and follow up on assigned work progress
  • Ability to cover weekend on call and respond as required for unplanned events
  • Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, L2L Dispatch, SAP etc.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, compressors, tempered water systems, steam production, wastewater systems, high voltage systems etc.
  • Current WV Class II Drinking Water License
  • Current WV Class “S” Wastewater Treatment certification
  • Industrial Maintenance, Supervision or Journeyman certification is a plus
