About The Position

Carrier’s facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, which manufactures residential gas furnaces, is recruiting a 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. The 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician must know their way around a control cabinet, PLC systems, and a multimeter. Our Indianapolis furnace manufacturing plant is a unionized (voluntary) site, offering the kind of stability, competitive hourly pay, and benefits that skilled tradespeople deserve. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Current journeyman's card OR successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for Electrician OR pass the applicable Industrial Assessment Test (score of 70% or higher)
3+ years’ experience working from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and/or piping schematic drawings
1+ years’ experience with electrical codes and requirements
1+ years’ experience tracing electrical circuits, and testing voltage
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.

Responsibilities

Diagnose faults, perform actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations on manufacturing equipment.
Utilize multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand, electrical, or soldering tools to troubleshoot and wire electrical circuits.
Lay out construction wiring and maintain electrical circuits for machine installations, conveyors, elevators, cranes, and busbars.
Replace unit components including gas valves, control relays, protective relays, fan/blower motors, fuses, and EAC compressors.
Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and preserve clean, safe work areas in accordance with site safety rules and EHS standards.
