The Production Machine Operator individual performs the basic set up and operates automatic machines in accordance with established shop practices. This role involves performing basic sets up and operating up to three automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, router package, specifications and/or special instructions. The operator is responsible for recognizing and detecting machine out-of-tolerance issues and adjusting controls accordingly, performing basic trial runs to check accuracy, and checking parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, SPC, and the shop floor system. Additionally, the operator will recognize and remedy minor machine malfunctioning and in-process inspections, reporting major discrepancies to a lead or supervisor. The role also includes determining and performing proper feed and speed combinations, providing necessary information to other teams for documentation, and performing work operations under supervision. Checking and reworking tooling as needed, laying out parts for successive machining operations, and examining products for quality conformance are also key duties. Record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and adherence to all safety regulations are required. Compliance with federal, local, and state government rules, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE Procedures is mandatory. Team members are required to attend all training, adhere to HSE procedures, policies, and plans, and conform to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures. Any known or suspected nonconformance must be immediately reported to management. Continuous improvement of HSE performance through setting objectives, measuring progress, and reporting results is expected. The role also involves participating in waste elimination initiatives, specifically related to manufacturing production, such as recycling opportunities to minimize production waste. A variety of other related duties may be assigned.
