The Production Machine Operator performs the basic set up and operates automatic machines in accordance with established shop practices. This role involves performing basic set ups and operating up to three automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, router package, specifications, and/or special instructions. The operator is responsible for recognizing and detecting machine out-of-tolerance issues and making necessary adjustments, performing basic trial runs to check accuracy, and checking parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, SPC, and shop floor systems. Minor machine malfunctioning and in-process inspections are to be remedied by the operator, with major discrepancies reported to a lead or supervisor. The role also includes determining and performing proper feed and speed combinations, providing information to support teams, and performing work operations under supervision. Additionally, the operator will check and rework tooling as needed, lay out parts for machining operations, examine products for quality standards, and perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and adhere to all safety regulations. Compliance with federal, local, and state government rules, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE Procedures is mandatory. The operator must attend all provided training, adhere to HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conform to reporting requirements, and maintain safe operating procedures. Any known or suspected nonconformance must be immediately reported to management. Continuous improvement of HSE performance through objectives, targets, measurement, and reporting is expected, along with participation in waste elimination initiatives.
