About The Position

The Production Machine Operator I is a critical part of the production team to achieve day-to-day safety, quality and production goals. This role has comprehensive assembly knowledge and is able to perform all department assembly operations, including running automated assembly machines under limited supervision. The operator is responsible for training and overseeing the work of assemblers and operators, communicating any issues to Production Supervisors. They are responsible for the complete manufacturing process, including the proper operation of plant equipment, quality assurance testing of finished product, troubleshooting process problems, making machine adjustments, and monitoring raw material availability and inventories. The role also involves executing safety and 5S housekeeping, monitoring machine performance to ensure processes are operating correctly and product is being produced to specifications, and recording production and quality data. Additionally, the operator will train, monitor, and coordinate the work of Temps and other Operators.

Requirements

  • Safety Conscious
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience with automated assembly machines
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Proven skills to start up and run automated assembly and packaging machines
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions
  • Ability to lead and train others
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude
  • Basic Computer knowledge (MS Office, PeopleSoft/MRP Systems, Database entry, etc.)
  • Flexibility

Responsibilities
