About The Position

Axiom Space is seeking a mission-driven Production & Logistics Intern to support hardware production and logistics activities. The internship is onsite in Houston, Texas, from June 1 to August 20, 2027. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations. The position offers opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and develop problem-solving skills while supporting production, scheduling, inventory, and hardware readiness for flight, training, ground support, and other events. The intern will help track production progress and material status, analyze hardware and production data, support procurement and production planning, maintain schedules and work authorization records, and contribute to manufacturing and processing issue resolution. The role also supports configuration management, documentation, process improvement, and coordination among cross-functional stakeholders. The work is generally in an office environment, though tasks may involve indoor or outdoor work. Evening and weekend work may be needed to meet critical project milestones. Export-control screening may be required for access to controlled technical data or technology.

Responsibilities

  • Track material status and production progress, and help resolve basic scheduling issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret hardware data to forecast baseline inventory requirements for flight, training, and ground support hardware, and implement procurement and/or production plans.
  • Monitor hardware production schedules, confirm commitments are met, and identify and proactively mitigate risks to ground and flight support schedules.
  • Monitor testing, training, and flight event support schedules to ensure hardware is prepared and available.
  • Support hardware supportability analysis for event support using predictive analysis tools to respond promptly to customer support requests.
  • Track work authorization packages for manufacturing, processing, and testing activities; maintain accountability logs, records, and indices to support timely delivery and work order closure.
  • Collaborate across functions to investigate and resolve manufacturing or processing matters and mitigate schedule impacts.
  • Work with stakeholders to define, develop, and document processes and workflows, and refine existing processes for cost-effective, efficient hardware management from initial production through long-term sustainment.
  • Help create and maintain hardware production schedules, work orders, and bills of material (BOMs) in ERP/MES/MRP systems, maintaining configuration integrity and on-time delivery.
