About The Position

The Production Assistant under immediate direction performs a variety of tasks including inspecting, packaging, palletizing, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving production materials. This role ensures the quality of the product being sliced and packaged meets the company’s production standards and quality. Responsibilities include removing product by hand from conveyor belt to place in packaging, boxing packaged material according to customers' specifications, and stocking boxes or repackaging when needed. The role also involves cutting and peeling casing from salami, rotating into any line position as needed, and tending the production line by watching for equipment malfunctions or product defects. Identifying and communicating problems and production issues in a timely manner to Supervisors is crucial. The position requires Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with understanding company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s). Adherence to set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times is mandatory. Other duties and responsibilities may be necessary.

Excellent attendance and dependability.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends on short notice.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED
3-6 months’ related manufacturing or food experience
