About The Position

Responsible for supporting production operations in producing high quality, food safety products by guiding production resources, materials, processes and equipment. This position leads a team of 10-15 staff members by creating an engaged and team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Self-motivated and able to lead others
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and following safety procedures
  • High level verbal communication ability
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team-player
  • Ability to perform steady and productive work for an extended period
  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Wears protective gear (uniform), including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment a plus.

  • Consistently follow departmental directions and adhere to all product specifications, food safety programs, GMPs, and HACCP Policies
  • Direct, delegate and assign tasks to subordinates; train and motivate employees
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed by team members i.e adhering to GMP’s, food safety and quality
  • Identify and prevent health and safety issues, i.e. dress code, personal hygiene, clean equipment and proper maintenance
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Ensure that workstations are restocked and sanitized ready for the next shift
  • Work with other leads, supervisors and managers to plan and prepare production schedule to meet deadlines
  • Support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service
  • Train and cross train associates following a training matrix and rotation schedule
  • Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspection
  • Inform appropriate personnel on the status of items being produced
  • Report employee absentees, tardiness to Supervisor or Manager
  • Ensure production schedule is completed in a timely manner verifies and closes all production batches
  • Assist in inventory management (ie, Cycle Count, Adjustments, Inventory Movement, Manufacturing) using WMS System – Mobe3
  • Work with Bakery Supervisor or Manager in planning the production and line balancing
  • Complete a work order request for any maintenance issues that arise during the shift
  • Ensure all issues are communicated to Supervisor or Manager
  • Assist in testing new recipes
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement efforts
  • Record operations or production data using the Production Control Reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e., process improvement project and other special projects)
