About The Position

Material handlers ensure production areas are fully stocked and have the products they need to fulfill orders and move quickly. A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational, scheduling, and time management skills.
  • Understand and comply with company safety standards and federal regulations.
  • Must be a team player across departments.
  • Good knowledge of use of scales, strong understanding of weight and measure principles.
  • Safely operate mobile inventory vehicles (forklifts, cherry pickers, etc) and either have or obtain an operators permit.
  • Must be able to lift 10 – 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to lift 20 – 40 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to easily grasp packages, products, and other materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs

  • Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties assigned by Department Lead.
  • Understand the functionality of a BOM (Bill of Materials).
  • Identify parts by part number and by sight.
  • Locate and deliver (without assistance) needed material to work stations as required by production schedule.
  • Locate and return (without assistance) excess materials to stock.
  • Understand and perform production reporting functions.
  • Scale count finished products and packages.
  • Accurately label finished goods as needed.
  • Complete daily cycle counts.
  • Maintain picking levels as required.
  • Separate scrap in the weigh station as required.
  • Consistently maintain a clean work area.
