About The Position

The Production Lead role involves overseeing and assisting both management and employees within a case-ready department. Key responsibilities include training new and existing employees on job skills, company policies, and procedures, while also promoting job rotation. The position requires maintaining quality standards, assisting management with employee placement, assessing controls, gathering information, and ensuring good communication regarding production and written records. Additionally, Production Leads support employees by administering short breaks, maintaining work areas, and explaining company policies and procedures. The role demands significant physical stamina, including repetitive arm, elbow, wrist, hand, and finger motions, heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working in a specific temperature-controlled, damp environment.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in case ready department positions
  • Must be willing to work all hours scheduled
  • Must not have more than 3.5 attendance points (will be demoted if 3.5 is exceeded)
  • No disciplinary write-ups in the past 6 months
  • Must be capable of performing simple math
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodations
  • Repetitive motion includes full extension of arms to shoulder height
  • Repetitive elbow, wrist, hand and finger motion
  • Must be able to lift a maximum 90 lbs. not less than 30 times per 4.5-hour period from floor level to a maximum height of 6 feet
  • Job includes standing for at least 4.5 hours within a work area, or walking distances longer than 100 feet covering an area that exceeds 45,000 square feet
  • Must withstand a damp work area with a temperature range of 40 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit for a period of 10 hours

Responsibilities

  • Have the employee read the job description

  • Make necessary corrections and allow the employee to try again
  • Repeat steps 1-4 till employee is comfortable
  • Build line speed and confidence of employee
  • Train employee in policies and procedures
  • Train and retrain employees, promoting job rotation
  • Assist Management in employee placement
  • Assist Management in assessment of controls
  • Assist Management in gathering information
  • Assist Management in maintaining quality standards
  • Assist Management in maintaining good communication concerning production and written records
  • Assist Employees in administering short breaks
  • Assist Employees in maintaining work area and good communications concerning production
