Chemours is seeking a Production Leader to join our growing Louisville Works Operations team! This position will report directly to the Operations Manager in our Louisville, KY location. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead by influence and align operations to meet the business and operations goals for the product lines of responsibility. Through their understanding of capabilities within the area, they will ensure continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality, and effectively guide maintenance work and shutdowns to support reliable operations. This role will routinely interface with business key team members and supply chain for coordination of objectives, opportunities, production needs, and understanding of customer needs. This role will guide overall quality, resourcing, and scheduling of the assets assigned and continually work to improve the capabilities of the area and operation of the assets to meet business objectives. This role requires excellent operations knowledge and work processes understanding as well as thorough Business/Commercial understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment or other technical field; OR minimum 10 years’ operations experience including prior supervisory experience
  • Thorough problem solving, troubleshooting, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work with a diverse population of employees and contractors
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated capability to cultivate results

Nice To Haves

  • Process Safety Management within High Hazard Process Operations, preferably in the chemicals industry
  • Previous line supervision experience in manufacturing
  • Experience catalyzing Lean manufacturing principles and implementation of production systems
  • Familiarity with the SAP/R3 module in finance/cost management and Work Management Process (WMP)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and environmentally sound operation & maintenance of a high hazard process.
  • Act as main Operations interface and point of contact with commercial and supply chain for coordination of production – Owner of the Operations/Business managing processes to align operations on top business priorities and accountable to develop and implement plan based on these priorities.
  • Provides direction to the maintenance/technical teams in support of the business and serves as the point of contact for new growth capital requirements.
  • Accountable for meeting Total Cost of Manufacture objectives (fixed and variable)
  • Champions best practices, effective administration of systems and tools to direct continuous improvement toward increased operations effectiveness/efficiency.
  • Adjust production priorities as necessary.
  • Routinely interacts with Operations Manager for asset performance.
  • Decides on maintenance work to be done, reviews notifications to determine validity and priority when converting to work orders.
  • Adjusts maintenance schedule to align with production schedule and asset needs.
  • Creates an optimized asset schedule to include production, maintenance, and service to operations activities.
  • Integrates Capital/Change of Design construction plan into asset schedule.
  • Interfaces with maintenance and contract administration on work performed by site maintenance and contractors – Leads maintenance planning and scheduling meetings and is responsible for scheduling predictive and preventative maintenance by date of completion.
