The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring that all processes adhere to safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role involves leading a team of up to 50 employees, coaching and training staff, and ensuring compliance with company policies and GMP regulations. The Production Lead works closely with the Production Value Stream Supervisor to ensure smooth workflows, troubleshoot any production issues, and ensure that production goals are met. The ideal candidate has experience in managing production teams, is proficient in data entry and reporting through MS Excel, and excels in both communication and leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old (per state law).
  • Experience working in assembly plants (cells or tables) assembling products.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for daily data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to lead a team of up to 50 people.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills at all management levels.
  • Ability to de-escalate situations quickly and effectively.
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role with direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Wear the appropriate PPE and uniform.
  • Follow GMPs, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Adhere to break schedules and report any policy breaches to the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Coach and provide corrective actions to employees failing to meet quotas.
  • Audit and report underperformance via email to the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Ensure all direct reports maintain the required quality standards.
  • Input data into appropriate spreadsheets daily.
  • Train all new hires within the assigned production area.
  • Oversee packaging operations to ensure products are packaged according to quality standards and production goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervisor to ensure smooth production operations, including feedback on goals, performance, quality, equipment, materials, and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
