About The Position

Production Lead will be responsible for coordinating, managing, problem-solving and work cross-functionally in support of the material flow between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet requirements of GE, Customers, and Suppliers. Job Description Role Summary/Purpose: The production lead will be responsible for leading a team of operators in executing heavy duty gas turbine overhaul Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Work as part of team to accomplish delivery goal for Engines and Modules Will be assigned specific EMUs to lead based on skills and qualifications Perform turbine technician job duties as required to keep up with production priorities Ensure all employees are at their assigned workstation Meet daily with Operations Leader to plan for the next day and set team priorities Report shortages and incomplete tasks for communicating to oncoming shift Assist employees with job tasks as needed Facilitate training of Turbine Techs and Turbine Tech Apprentices as needed Identity material shortages for projects and communicate with materials team regarding parts concerns Ensure necessary work instructions, procedures, drawings and supplies are provided to team Communicate with other leads concerning all internal parts moves Work with team to improve productivity in areas to include tasks, vouchering, tools and drawings Assist in identifying P&E needs for the shop Work with team to achieve business goals for DAFW and I&I metrics Work with team for compliance with safety requirements and supporting EHS training metrics Work with team to reduce defects and ensure NCR process is followed for identified defects Support communication of meetings, events and activities Provide feedback to broader teams, gates, on issues and support of action plans to make improvements Perform other related duties as requested by Operations Leader or Cell Leader

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of work experience in engine shop
  • Prior experience leading or co-leading a team and/or project
  • A&P license or 1+ years’ experience assembling/disassembling aero engines.

  • Prior leadership experience

  • Conform to all safety and quality requirements and compliance with current policies
  • Perform all duties as part of a team and serve as change agent to help improve on current processes
  • Maintain facilities, materials, and work areas orderly by exercising good housekeeping practice
  • The employee is expected to be at their assigned workstation ready to work at their assigned starting time
  • Lead by example to earn credibility and reinforce dignity and respect within team
