About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible for maintaining and meeting all production goals as well as productivity, to obtain complete customer satisfaction through production value, and employee effectiveness. This role supports the Supervisor with Production functions to meet daily department requirements, directs and assists production operators, and ensures accuracy and efficiency of daily work orders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as work orders, packaging requests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Must be able to work closely with co-workers as a team.
  • Must be able to accept direction.
  • Ability to operator a fork truck.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-55 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that more than 75 lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Supervisor with the Production functions in order to meet the daily department requirements.
  • Read and follow the Production project schedule.
  • Direct and assist the production operators with the completion of daily projects.
  • Approve daily work orders for accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Complete the check in/out of bulk truck drivers and other inbounds.
  • Retrieve samples from top and bottom of the railcars following the safety procedures in place.
  • Inspect product to identify and remove any contaminations.
  • Assist with the departments training and completion of training records.
  • Record seal numbers from railcars when needed.
  • Assist technical support in production development.
  • Assist and oversee the warehouse, production, and rail yard sanitation and housekeeping.
  • Complete and oversee the material movement as indicated in the documented procedure.
  • Perform shipping and receiving operations including checking orders, picking and staging orders, loading trucks and tracking/recording product movement.
  • Lift 55 lbs repeatedly.
