About The Position

Altek Electronics, a trusted source of electronic manufacturing services since 1972, is a comprehensive contract manufacturer serving a broad range of industries. We work with industry leaders supporting a complete product life cycle, from prototype through production and end of life. As a solutions provider with expertise in PCB layout and design, PCB assembly, and upper-level chassis, control panels, and cable & harness assembly, we manufacture products using LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. We use open communication to fulfill our mission of “Value through the eyes of the customer.” Delivering quality products on-time, Altek is certified to AS9100D, our operators are certified to IPC-610, IPC-620 and J-STD, and we are ITAR compliant. We have 1 position on our afternoon shift. Mon - Fri 12pm – 8:30pm. Overtime may be available and/or required during busy periods. A 10% shift differential is offered for this shift. We have 1 position on our Weekend shift. Fri - Mon 6 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime may be available and/or required during busy periods. Please indicate in your notes which schedule you are interested in.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide direction
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that operators complete job duties on time while maintaining a steady flow of work
  • Support and champion CFM and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Facilitate the training of employees per Altek’s training requirements
  • Maintain and update the Takt board as necessary
  • Review and understand the production/shipping schedule(s)
  • Provide guidance and instruction to operators to improve competence
  • Schedule, conduct, & document meetings with line operators at least twice per week
  • Perform all normal job functions/duties of your area
  • Responsible for understanding & following company, and/or manufacturing guidelines/procedures
  • Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures
  • Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S
  • Monitor associates’ productivity and make adjustments as needed to improve throughput
  • Inform supervisors of any existing and/or potential employee issues
