About The Position

The Production Lead – TyreSense is a hands-on technical leader responsible for executing and supporting the daily production of TyreSense hardware in Langley. This role combines frontline leadership with strong electronics troubleshooting, production test ownership, and practical shop-floor execution to ensure products are built, tested, and delivered reliably. The position is expected to work directly on the bench while leading the team, maintaining production flow, resolving technical issues in real time, and strengthening Langley’s production capability as operations expand.

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical background in electronics, mechatronics, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience in electronics assembly, product testing, production troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution.
  • Strong ability to debug hardware, isolate faults, and resolve production issues in a practical environment.
  • Experience working with test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, communication interfaces, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a hands-on production environment while actively contributing on the floor.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, work instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP/MRP, production environments, lean practices, or continuous improvement methods is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily production, assembly, and test activities for TyreSense products in Langley.
  • Serve as the first technical escalation point for production issues, test failures, and build-related troubleshooting.
  • Build stronger local production capability through practical leadership, technical ownership, training, and standardized methods.
  • Support the expansion of Langley production by improving test readiness, fixture capability, documentation, and team confidence.
  • Lead and coordinate daily production, assembly, and test activities for TyreSense products in Langley.
  • Work hands-on with technicians on assembly, validation, rework, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
  • Assign tasks, adjust priorities, and maintain production flow to support delivery commitments.
  • Act as the first escalation point for technical production issues on the floor.
  • Monitor bottlenecks, throughput, and quality concerns, and drive immediate corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of TyreSense hardware, assemblies, build requirements, and production test processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PCB-level issues, assembly defects, test failures, and intermittent production problems.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring technical issues and ensure follow-through to effective resolution.
  • Partner with engineering to improve design-for-manufacturing, robustness, and practical production readiness.
  • Ensure build and test processes are technically sound, practical, repeatable, and suitable for production use.
  • Own the day-to-day readiness, reliability, and effectiveness of production test systems, fixtures, and tooling used in Langley.
  • Diagnose, repair, and improve electronic test setups, including power, communication interfaces, RF, and sensor validation environments.
  • Build, modify, maintain, and organize test fixtures, harnesses, adapters, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ensure test systems are stable, accurate, and repeatable, with a focus on reducing false pass/fail outcomes.
  • Drive improvements in test reliability, speed, usability, and simplicity.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership on the production floor and lead by example.
  • Train and support technicians on assembly methods, test equipment use, troubleshooting practices, and standard work.
  • Build team capability and confidence to reduce reliance on outside technical support for routine production execution.
  • Reinforce accountability, teamwork, attendance, and strong shop-floor discipline.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training to strengthen bench depth and production resilience.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and key stakeholders to support the growth and expansion of TyreSense production in Langley.
  • Help transfer technical knowledge, production methods, and test capability into Langley from existing TyreSense operations and engineering support.
  • Support scaling of Langley production through: standardized build and test methods, fixture and tooling readiness, technician training and cross-coverage, improved process repeatability and documentation.
  • Provide practical feedback on production readiness, constraints, risks, and improvement opportunities as Langley capability expands.
  • Ensure all products are built, tested, and documented in line with TyreSense quality and test standards.
  • Drive reduction in rework, intermittent failures, test escapes, and avoidable production disruption.
  • Improve work instructions, test procedures, visual controls, and documentation clarity.
  • Maintain strong safety practices and an organized, disciplined production workspace.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and technical reliability.
