About The Position

The most advanced level of production employees responsible for interacting with all departments to help employees meet personnel needs and meet production needs to insure on time and accurate delivery to customer. Responsible for driving improvements specifically directed at Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost savings training and daily staffing  Provides knowledge and expertise in complex process control systems and equipment by using systematic approaches to diagnose, locate and correct malfunctions and undesirable equipment operations. Helps expedite the movement of steel from raw material to finished product.  Incumbents organize, prioritize, troubleshoot and direct personnel for accurate and on-time production.

Requirements

  • Intermediate computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel, ERP System (Oracle)

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside employees driving Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery each day.
  • Resolve day to day issues to meet customer demand.
  • Train, mentor, develop, and maintain training sheets and cross training matrix on all employees and make recommendations for employee advancement.
  • Complete daily production, scrap, and rework reports as required
  • Record daily attendance of seasonal and regular full time employees and submit weekly payroll reports
  • Execute and prioritize scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and delegate daily work assignments
  • Provide input and present seasonal and RFT evaluation, disciplinary reports, and provide input on merit increases
  • Provide a safe working environment and encourage active participation in the 8-step safety process
  • Incident/Accident investigation and reporting
  • Involvement in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects
  • Interact with outside vendors as needed
  • Act on behalf of the manager when empowered to do so
