About The Position

The Production Lead will assist the Supervisor in the production process for an assigned work center by maintaining a consistent progress flow in the line operation. The Production Lead will assist in overseeing, planning, organizing, and recommending strategies to ensure the product is manufactured successfully, in accordance with all specifications.

Requirements

  • Exercise considerable initiative/judgment in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lead by example and communicate with clarity.
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Supervisor to assign, lead, review, and monitor work to maximize productivity and prevent downtime.
  • Complete all assigned paperwork as needed.
  • Ensuring quality of work/product meets Company standards by quality checks, problem-solving, and coordinating with department Supervisors.
  • Report quality issues to Supervisor to minimize waste or rework.
  • Follow production line schedule as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Optimize production line efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
  • Identify and report to the Supervisor production line challenges.
  • Train and supervise new team members.
  • Maintaining a fully operational and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to and ensure employees, visitors and contractors are following Company safety policies and work procedures.
  • Review finished products to ensure quality, and industry standards are met.
  • Assist Supervisor to ensure work materials are present when needed.
  • Lead team members during work shift by maintaining a consistent, visible presence in the production area.
  • Mentor and motivate team members to follow safe work practices and comply with production standards while striving to meet performance objectives.
  • Follow work activities, including start-up, shutdown, and any other activities as instructed by the Supervisor.
  • Support the Supervisor with performance by making recommendations for ratings, opportunities for improvement, and recognition for strong performance.
  • Has no authority for staff actions.
